Description Type A, EV-design residual current circuit-breakers (RCCB)
detect non-auxiliary-dependent pulsating DC and AC residual currents
at the rated frequency in accordance with the requirements of IEC/EN
61008-1 for Type A RCCBs. The integrated additional device, which
depends on the auxiliary voltage, detects smooth DC residual currents
and triggers safe isolation of the downstream faulty system part from
the supplying mains if a value of 6 mA is exceeded. All requirements
set out in DIN V VDE V 0664-120 for RCCBs with additional equipment
have been meet. The RCCB is designed exclusively for use in equipment
which charges electric vehicles in charge operating mode 3 according
to IEC 61851-1 when smooth DC residual currents are to be expected
while charging electric vehicles. The FI-EV RCCB is therefore suitable
for the protective measure 'Automatic switch-off of power supply', as
required by HD 60364- 7-722 for each connection point when charging
electric vehicles, when smooth DC residual currents > 6 mA are to be
expected in the event of a fault.
